Review of ECOMMPAY’s achievements in 2017

At the beginning of 2018, ECOMMPAY looks back on the past 12 months. The payment service provider and direct bank card acquirer enjoyed record breaking growth across multiple categories, from technological innovation to industry recognition to international expansion.

Technological innovation

Throughout 2017, ECOMMPAY’s Product Development and Management Department was hard at work on a new and improved payment platform. GATE2025 was engineered to find synergy between conversion and security, expanding the platform’s risk management capabilities while improving the client interface and user experience.

The new system maintains an up-time of 99.99%, processing 1000+ transactions per second. Designed to meet the needs and requirements of e-Commerce merchants, GATE2025 is a technological breakthrough in the electronic payments industry.

As a result of the GATE2025 project, which received positive feedback from resident experts, ECOMMPAY Moscow was invited to join the Skolkovo Innovation Centre.

Industry recognition

Building on the success of previous years, which saw ECOMMPAY named Most Innovative Payment Provider Europe 2015 and Fastest Growing Payment Provider United Kingdom 2016, the previous year was rich in terms of awards and nominations. In addition to winning the title of Payment Solutions Provider Company of the Year at the International Gaming Awards 2017, ECOMMPAY was nominated for the Global Regulatory Awards, the CEEG Awards, the SBC Awards, and the Finance Magnates Awards.

Further confirming the company’s expertise, representatives of ECOMMPAY’s IT department won a competition judging technical knowledge amongst developers of highload systems, held within the framework of the HighLoad++ 2017 conference, which took place at the Skolkovo Business School on November 7-8.

In anticipation of the Revised Payment Services Directive (PSD2), VISA launched a UK Authentication Steering Group and invited ECOMMPAY to take part. Comprised of influential UK market participants, who will collectively address questions and comments to the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), the Steering Group seeks to achieve a comprehensive understanding of the directive’s technical requirements, as well to aid VISA in revising its internal rules to comply with these requirements.

International expansion

Beyond the innovative technological developments introduced in 2017, which improved ECOMMPAY’s market offering to existing and prospective clients, the payment service provider grew significantly, organically expanding both its team and its global footprint.

  • Recognising the island’s advantageous geographical position, ECOMMPAY made the decision to establish regional operations in Mauritius. By the beginning of 2018, ECOMMPAY’s seventh office was up and running, having moved into a beautiful building in Ebene CyberCity. Arvind Jeewooth was brought on board as Regional Director, leveraging his connections with the Mauritius Board of Investment to establish strategic banking partnerships within the African and Indian markets.
  • More than 130 specialists, ranging from personal account managers and risk analysts to business development specialists and software developers, joined the ECOMMPAY team in 2017. The corporate family now employs over 450 people in seven offices worldwide.
  • The influx of new talent forced ECOMMPAY’s regional offices in the Russian Federation and Latvia to find more spacious premises. Recognising the impact of corporate culture on employee productivity and job satisfaction, ECOMMPAY designed Place Eleven, the location of its Latvian branch, to reflect the company’s inclusive, engaging professional philosophy. The development was a resounding success, receiving widespread coverage in Russian and European media outlets.
  • Having increased its numbers and expanded geographically, ECOMMPAY turned to facilitating opportunities for professional development. In 2017, employees had access to more than 60 trainings and more than 60 lectures, not to mention weekly meetings with both external and internal specialists.

2018 promises to be another memorable year. ECOMMPAY intends to beat the records set during 2017, launching GATE2025 in full force and raising the bar for quality and security standards. You can expect more expansion, more expertise, and more innovation!
