Ecommpay gains full Digital Accessibility Centre approval for website and product pages

Following close behind its previous announcement that it had achieved Digital Accessibility Centre (DAC) certification for its mobile SDK and Hosted Payment Page, inclusive global payments platform, Ecommpay has now gained full DAC compliance across its website and product pages. This follows a rigorous three-strand testing process by the DAC to ensure it meets the WC3 (World Wide Web Consortium) WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) 2.2 AA standard for accessibility.

The Ecommpay website was entirely redesigned and relaunched in 2024, as part of the company’s ongoing inclusivity programme, Ecommpay for Good. Using colours, fonts and layouts that ensure accessibility for those with visual and hearing impairment and cognitive and physical disabilities, the DAC certified Ecommpay payments platform and dashboard enable merchants to deliver an inclusive payments experience to their customers.

“At Ecommpay, inclusivity is built into everything we do, it is never an afterthought,” commented Max Ryzhov, Chief Product Officer at Ecommpay, who led the audit process with the DAC. “Every team across the business is committed to delivering an inclusive and accessible service to our merchant clients and their end customers. It is, therefore, essential that our website and payment platform support that commitment. So we have invested significantly in redesigning our systems and website.

“Throughout the process we have worked closely with the DAC, to ensure every part of every menu on every page aligns with WCAG guidelines. Working in partnership like this meant we were not only able to quickly rectify any minor issues flagged during the detailed audit; it also meant we gained invaluable insights that will help us as we design and build new products, solutions and web pages in future.

“To carry out the redesign fully, so that every element of our website and payment platform are fully accessible has not been a quick or easy task, but the team has remained focused and determined to reach this important goal. Achieving this DAC approval is testament to everyone’s commitment and perseverance, and their ability to remain focused on the bigger priority of ultimate inclusivity.”

Ecommpay is enabling merchants to improve their digital presence with free access to a Guide to Digital Accessibility which outlines the actions needed to meet the WC3 WCAG 2.2 AA standard for accessibility.  It covers every aspect of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines with a checklist for developers to reference as they build and maintain their websites. It can be accessed from the Ecommpay website as an HTML or PDF.
