A mass payout is a method of automating a large number of payments at once. Mass payouts are initiated either via Dashboard or Gate API, and can save a great deal of time and expense compared to conducting the process manually.

Mass payouts are a useful tool for all kinds of applications, enabling FinTechs, digital platforms, retail, travel, mobility, and e-learning businesses to pay customers, freelancers, and teachers. Payouts are also useful for sending funds to suppliers and delivery companies, and can also be used by payroll departments.

While the term “instant payout” isn’t technically correct, funds can be made available to payees within minutes, rather than having to wait several days for a transaction to clear. In addition, payouts using Visa Direct and MoneySend enable payouts to reach accounts within 30 minutes after a transaction is completed. (Note: Payout transaction debit also depends on the issuer bank.)

Mass payment solutions such as netting help to simplify the process of managing cash flows, making it easier to track and reconcile payments - e.g. payments received from deposits can be transferred to the payout balances via dashboard interfaces.

For example, if taxi passengers pay for their rides in Złoty, these payments are collected through the Ecommpay payment gateway. The merchant transfers these funds to the payout balance and then the taxi company pays its drivers in Polish Złoty (PLN) through the Ecommpay balance.
