Aleex Sjarki

Aleex Sjarki is the Founder and CEO of Ecommpay, a FinTech he built from zero into a global payments company with its own gateway, acquiring, and certified processing platform. Since the company’s inception in 2012, he’s focused on creating technology that removes friction from online businesses and gives them more control, clarity, and efficiency in how they move money.

Aleex’s background spans real estate development and financial consultancy, where he managed multimillion-euro projects and advised clients across finance and e-commerce. That experience taught him two things early: challenge everything, and build only what brings real value.

Under Aleex’s leadership, Ecommpay has built an in-house technology team dedicated to delivering high-end tailored payment solutions for regulated online business sectors. Ecommpay has grown from a small payment gateway startup into a global company with offices in the UK & Europe. The group is FCA-authorised as a Payment Institution, a principal member of Visa and Mastercard, and offers more than 100 payment methods worldwide. In 2018, Ecommpay launched its own certified processing platform, enhancing its ability to provide a unified suite of services including gateway functionality, fraud prevention, acquiring, orchestration, and client fund settlements.

Born in Latvia in 1981 to a family of engineers, Aleex pursued studies in Economics and Finance at the University of Latvia, where he earned a Master’s degree. He is passionate about AI, innovation, and any lifehack that makes the world more efficient. When he’s not working, Aleex spends time with his family or stays active boxing, paddle, jogging, hiking, e-foiling, and swimming.
