Retail Technology Show 2025: event wrap-up

Retail Technology Show 2025 may be over, but we’re still reflecting on all the valuable insights and connections we made! For retailers and payment service providers like Ecommpay, it’s always a great opportunity to dive into the latest tech trends, tackle challenges and meet the people driving change in retail. It was the perfect chance for us to showcase how we can help retailers optimise payments, improve customer experiences and stay ahead in the digital landscape.

Key takeaways from Retail Technology Show

The two-day agenda was packed with thought-provoking panels and fireside chats, featuring some of the biggest names in retail. Here are just a few of the standout moments that caught our attention:

  • AI in retail: moving beyond the hype. AI is transforming retail, but the focus is shifting from buzzwords to real, actionable applications. One of the most compelling sessions explored how AI can drive tangible business results, from personalised recommendations to supply chain efficiencies. Explore AI's impact on FinTech
  • Sustainability & ethical retail. Sustainability was a hot topic, with brands like ASOS, Currys, and AllSaints sharing their strategies for making retail more environmentally responsible without compromising on profitability. We loved hearing about innovative approaches, like circular fashion and sustainable stock management. See how Ecommpay champions social responsibility & accessibility
  • The future of omnichannel retail is evolving. The retail landscape is moving beyond just online and in-store shopping to create a seamless experience across all channels. This evolution demands a seamless and unified approach to payments, where customers can shop across channels - online, in-store, or via mobile - without friction. • Composable commerce & seamless experiences. Retailers are increasingly embracing modular, unified commerce solutions to boost conversion rates and streamline operations. Clarks shared how they achieved a 19% conversion rate increase through composable commerce - a huge takeaway for brands looking to stay ahead in the digital-first world. • The importance of data and personalisation. Personalising the shopping experience based on customer data is now crucial. A stand to remember

The Ecommpay stand at Q50 was buzzing throughout the event! We had some incredible conversations with retailers about their biggest challenges and what they’re looking for in a payment service provider. It’s invaluable to hear directly from businesses about the pain points they face, whether it’s optimising conversion rates, reducing fraud, or improving cross-border transactions. We’re always looking to enhance our services, and these conversations are a great starting point.

And of course, our drinks reception was a highlight - after a long day of networking and panel sessions, a glass of Prosecco (or a fine whiskey) was the perfect way to unwind and continue the conversation in a more relaxed setting. Thank you to everyone who stopped by to raise a glass with us!

The power of face-to-face connections

Beyond the sessions, the best part of the Retail Technology Show 2025 was the connections - from catching up with industry leaders, to meeting retailers looking to future-proof their payment strategies.

To everyone who visited us at Stand Q50, attended our drinks reception, or simply stopped for a chat, thank you! We love being part of these conversations and helping retailers navigate the evolving payments landscape.

If we didn’t get a chance to connect at the event, our team is always happy to chat. Let’s keep the conversation going !
