As over a third of small businesses lack digital skills, Ecommpay Hosted Payment Page helps boost checkout performance

New no-code tools enable small merchants to go live in hours, lift conversion with one-tap payments, and upgrade their checkout as their business grows

According to research, over a third of SMEs report that their workforce isn’t equipped with digital skills. Responding to this insight, global inclusive payments platform, Ecommpay is providing small businesses with a Hosted Payments Page that delivers checkout performance without the need for in-house development skills.

The Ecommpay Hosted Payment Page is integral to the Ecommpay for Small Businesses solution which offers the capability to go live within hours of onboarding , at a competitive rate and without any volume threshold. The fully brandable Hosted Payment Page, which has been accredited for accessibility by the Digital Accessibility Centre, is built-in as a default, to be launched from the merchant Dashboard without any technical resource.

Key to the Hosted Payment Page is the Payment Page Designer, a dashboard tool that lets merchants, and any non-technical member of staff, brand and adjust their checkout page without writing a single line of code. It turns page customisation from a technical task into a business one, closing the confidence gap. Apple Pay and Google Pay buttons, alongside a card microframe, are also available as a drop-in addition to the hosted checkout enabling small businesses to offer the one-tap payment experience to lift conversion.

The Ecommpay Hosted Payment Page offers three implementation modes that map directly to how a small business actually operates today:

  • Redirect: a fully hosted, low-code checkout that reduces the compliance burden for the merchant - built for sole traders and micro-merchants without dedicated development support.
  • iFrame: an embedded checkout that sits within the merchant's own site journey, preserving visual continuity while Ecommpay continues to own the compliance and security load - suited to small and medium businesses with a mix of in-house and outsourced support.
  • Microframe: deeper embedding with closer control over the checkout experience for merchants with a developer on hand, whether in-house or via an agency, while compliance scope remains with Ecommpay.

Crucially, a merchant can move between modes as their business changes, without a re-platforming project or a change of provider.

For many small businesses, despite having a great product or idea, the payment process offered to customers can be a barrier to success,” explained Max Ryzhov, Chief Product Officer, Ecommpay. “With Hosted Payment Page as part of Ecommpay for Small Businesses we make sure that improving checkout performance is not dependent on in-house technical skills or buying in external expertise.”
