Ecommpay named as one of the Payments Power 50
Inclusive global payments platform, Ecommpay, has been named in the first ever Payments Power 50 list by The Power 50, in recognition of its work within sustainability and accessibility. Ecommpay’s commitment to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) does not just meet regulatory expectations, it goes further, to build trust, and strengthen brand reputation and customer loyalty. It also helps with talent attraction and retention as colleagues want to work for companies that align with their own values.
The Payments Power 50 list recognises the 40 most innovative companies and 10 industry experts driving transformation in the global payments industry. Founded in 2018, The Power 50 shines a spotlight on those who are transforming financial services for the better and delivers ongoing support and development for participants. Bringing together a diverse yet interconnected community, the Payments Power 50 will serve as a reminder of the significant strides being made in the payments space.
“Each year, The Power 50 celebrates the standout talent within the fintech community, showcasing groundbreaking companies and influential leaders from across the globe,” says Jason Williams, CEO of The Power 50. “Earning a place on The Power 50 is a testament to the impact individuals and businesses are making in shaping the future of fintech. It also serves as a trusted benchmark for excellence in the industry.”
Ecommpay kicked off its inclusivity journey in September 2024, with the launch of its new rebrand identity and Ecommpay for Good initiative. This focuses on inclusivity and providing merchants with critical support to improve their own accessibility to benefit customers. Working with the Digital Accessibility Centre, Ecommpay’s website and payments platform has undergone stringent testing and the business has launched a free Guide to Digital Accessibility outlining the actions needed to meet the WC3 (World Wide Web Consortium) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standard for accessibility.
Committed to building neurodiversity and unconscious bias awareness among its employees, Ecommpay partners with expert organisations and has implemented a programme of mandatory training and recruitment practices. It also offers this training to its clients and partners to help them integrate into their own operations.
Miranda McLean, Chief Marketing Officer at Ecommpay added: “Recognising the imperative of ESG for our clients, and for their customers, Ecommpay is on a mission to build inclusivity and sustainability into every aspect of our operations. We also aim to provide e-commerce merchants and FinTechs with the tools to build inclusivity and sustainability into their own strategies and organisations.
“We have made great progress within our own business in the past year, but we don’t want Ecommpay to remain the only payment platform that has a focus on ESG. We must all carry this responsibility if we are to effect real change. The Ecommpay mission is to achieve financial inclusivity for all, and that begins by raising awareness and acting collectively.”
