Recite Me toolbar boosts accessibility of Ecommpay website

Payment platform takes next step to improve usability of its entire website.
Global Accessibility Awareness Day – 21st May 2026

Inclusive global payments platform, Ecommpay, has announced the integration of cloud-based accessibility tool Recite Me to its website. Announced ahead of Global Accessibility Awareness Day (21st May), the addition of the innovative toolbar to the Ecommpay website includes text-to-speech, translation into multiple languages, adjustable fonts and colours and reading aids.

In 2024, Ecommpay redesigned its website to improve usability for people with diverse needs and launched Ecommpay for Good, an ongoing accessibility and inclusivity programme. The Ecommpay website now meets strict criteria set by the Digital Accessibility Centre (DAC) and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), ensuring it reduces cognitive load, improves visual clarity and supports assistive technologies. As a result, merchants using Ecommpay for their payments services can offer an inclusive payment experience that reduces friction, drop-off and exclusion.

“While we are already DAC approved and WCAG compliant, the addition of the Recite Me toolbar to our website demonstrates our commitment to accessibility and inclusivity,” confirmed Miranda McLean, Chief Marketing Office at Ecommpay.

“Compliance with DAC and WCAG guidelines ensures our website meets required standards from a technical perspective. But it doesn’t always address how easily users can read, understand or engage with the content itself. The Recite Me toolbar adds a user-controlled layer that improves real-world usability, particularly for those with visual impairments, cognitive differences or language barriers. Most people won't notice the little pop-up in the corner of the page, but for those who need it, they can now access our website in whatever format they need.”
